Do you give handmade gifts for Christmas ?
I sometimes give handmade gifts, but only if i know that the recipient will appreciate it or have it as a wish. What do you do ? Only for knitworthy people in my life, close family and friends. Not everyone appreciates or uses handmade knitted items so I have been gifting them to people that Im sure will use it. I have knitted mostly hats, shawls and socks for my mom, brother, best friend and grandmother I did last Christmas, but I think they hated them :( So unless somebody asks, I wont bother anymore. I’m making a Christmas present right now, my first time doing so tho! I have taken a bunch of pottery classes in the fall. At least one person in the class will end up making ceramic ornaments. Its such a nice and quick gift. I do quick knitted stuff like dk socks or mittens Sometimes I give a little present, selfmade, instead of a ChristmasCard i only do so for those who are close to me and will appreciate the effort! I used to a lot more, but Ive been scaling back this year. Im trying to only make things that people have directly asked me for, so I know its something they want and I dont have to try and find the perfect pattern I too will only spend time making something handmade for someone close who will appreciate the effort! I think most people dont understand the time that goes into knitting or crocheting something when you can buy cute or useful items for little money (socks, mittens, keychains...). Anyway I generally make something if the recepient has expressed interest in something specific (ex a summer top). Christmas decorations are also a people pleaser, generally.
Happy crafting :)
