For scanned books of 50+ pages with lots of patterns inside 300 pins is reasonable, IMHO. For a single scanned pattern it's high. For cross stitch digital patterns in .xsd a regular price is 199 pns, it's normal.

i feel like they really shouldn’t be more than 150, i’ve seen some for like 300 and that seems insane to me.

You should report the 400 to mods. This post explains the priceing and what the max limits are: https://www.pindiy.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=494519

Yep, the pricing is a bit much. However, it is allowed per the member uploading the files of what to charge. I skip on a lot of patterns now. Most are just redo of someone else's pattern maybe an element added here and there. Thank goodness I have a ton of patterns from other sites that are now no longer in existence. Members want the gold to be able to download what they want. I remember when the forum was all about sharing. Those days are gone now.

What is happening here on a small scale is actually exactly what is happening on a large scale all over the world: greed is consuming everything.

Meanwhile I ignore most pattern because they are completely overpriced.
I prefer to buy the original, support the designer and at least get any updates delivered free of charge.
Here, I would have to 'pay' for them again.
