That is so sad but I do understand as I have lost cats before and it was, still is heartbreaking!  Maybe it is time to get another familiar to share your life and home with

I wont do any christmas decorations or whatever this year, because my husband died last october.
We never did much with christmas, but now I dont want to do anything at all.
He was only 55 years old and I miss him so much :(

Our outside lights are up, they went up on Tuesday because the weather here was so nice.  I dont do much inside - a small tree is all.  Besides, its not about the decorations, for me Jesus is the reason for the season :-)  If people dont celebrate the same holiday as me, thats OK.  I just try not to get caught up in all the "holiday" things i.e., Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and kids not having a clue why theyre getting presents.

We had a terrible year a while back when my husband was unable to walk or work for 6 months. That year, we had no decorations at all, which was sad. My daughter was just 11 y.o.  The next year, I put up a tree and had her friends come over to help decorate.

Then my husband and his friend built a loft in the garage and he took every christmas box, including the tree, and put it up there.  One year, maybe 7 years ago, he would not bring anything down.  I was so upset.  He kept saying it was too early or he didnt have time or some such nonsense so just before Christmas on my way home from work I went and bought a 4 ft. pre-lit tree.  He was mad..he said "I TOLD YOU I"D GET TO IT" and I said...well, I cant wait for you; been waiting for weeks.  Ever since, I have put up that little tree, and only last year threw out the big tree.
This season, I just started to decorate last weekend (today is almost Christmas eve) and went through a lot of boxes and threw stuff away and gave stuff away.

Thank you for understanding - many dont. I just got a 7 month old and still feel guilty as I feel like Im just replacing the cat I lost. It will take time but I well eventually become close.
