Hi :) I sometimes knit the leg of socks with 4 needles if the pattern can be more easily divided on 3+1 instead of 4+1 needle. The first 1 or 2 rounds might be a little bit fiddely, but this is always the case for knitting in the round with dpn. If you feel very uncomfortable with the 3+1 needle, you can always change to a circular needle, knitting with magic loop and placing a marker after the stitches the pattern counts for one needle. (e.g. if you have 30 stitches and you should have 10 stitches per needle, place a marker on the circ after 10 stitches each.) |
