Is there anyway to speed up getting points?

i recommend posting patterns. you can really rack up points doing that; especially if they are popular. Ive gotten about 10k in a few hours after my patterns were accepted.

What do you mean "points"? Do you mean credits or gold coins?

Credits are calculated using the following equation:
Credits =  Posts × 0.1 + Threads × 0.26 + Digests × 5 + Online Time (h)/1.5

This means
1 Credit = 10 replies
1 Credit = 4 new threads
1 Credit = 1.5 hours active time on site

Gold coins are earned, usually by sharing patterns on the site
