question about purchase price of a pattern

sorry if i seem greedy. i am not. but i was wondering why is it that i dont get the full credit for a pattern. example i charge 10 credits for a pattern yet i only get 7. or if i charge 20 for a pattern i only get 18 and if by chance i do charge 50 i only get 35. please explain.

Couple the 30% with the 30 GC just to download and even though its not money it "cost" a lot for patterns. Its hard to get GC as it is since the rule changes but we are still getting the patterns.... I havent uploaded anything since my cancer diagnosis earlier this year but I had started charging more for things I personally purchased.
