Watermark on Patterns

Hi everyone! Just wondering..... I bought a pattern today and in the middle of every page, over the instructions and printing, there is the site watermark. Why cant this be put somewhere else on the page without blocking the instructions?? What is the purpose of putting a watermark on the pattern anyway? Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Thanks
