[Tips Discussion] stitching your name on a finished piece?

I put my initials in my work. If it is a birth sampler that already has a date on it, I dont bother to put the year since it is already there. But for a HAED, I would definately add my initials and year - in a corner using backstitch that is a few shades darker (or lighter) than the stitches in that area. I havent framed any of my larger pieces yet, but I think when I do, I will add an index card with more detailed info about the piece in the back - full name, name of pattern, date of start and finish, and if it is a gift, then who I made it for.

Thats a brilliant idea, you could add the year you stitched it too.

The index card is very cute! You can probably find really pretty scrap booking paper to use instead of an index card too!
