How can you make an easy french knot ? I heard that it is possible to make a colonial stitch. Please. Thanks.

I use tiny beads instead.  Much easier.

Colonial knots are probably easier than french knots and it is pretty hard to tell the difference , plenty of great tutorials on youtube and some on reddit too.

Do a google search for it since we are not allowed to post links.   There are pictures and a perfect video of how to do it perfectly.

Nice tutorial!!! Mary Corbet does one too which I first started with and have never looked back. The knack is to keep the fabric as taut as possible while you are working the French knot and to come  Details Reply Post time 2013-5-19 20:44

This tutorial is fantastic! This is actually how I have been doing my french knots for the past 10+ years. With patience, this trick definitely works...patience is definitely the key though! :)  Post time 2013-4-8 07:00

Thank you Citroen for that information.  I can't make a French knot that actually looks nice for anything!  I've tried and tried, so thank you so much!

Great resource! Thank you. I also heard that you can just bead instead of French knot where they are in the pattern, but I guess that only works if you like the look of beads, and also find beading easier than French Knotting.
