I always find backstitch a bit boring, but I do it in stages as soon as there are enough cross sti ...

Eugh, I know! I despise backstitch and stupidly left it to last on my current project. I have about 200 normal stitches, then backstitch in gold and metallic gold thread. Dreading it!!!
