Knitting help?

Im new to knitting and have only knitting in a circle and was wondering what other ways I can challenge myself to get better. I havent found any patterns I really want to try and am looking for something that will make me try to get better. A majority of patterns I have seen that are easy are simple knit, purl, which seems a little boring. Anyone have any ideas?

find a toy to knit, some can be quite challenging, there are two pattern makers I would recommend - Alan Dart and Jean Greenhowe

why dont you try knitting cables, its has a very beautifull result and it certainly improves your knitting abilities.

I think if you knit pattern squares you can turn them into a blanket . There are lots of free ideas if you google it. Good luck and hope you show us hat you do.:D

And then theres always lace knitting, the majority of which is done on normal sized needles with tiny yarn!
