Just finished this one for 2013 from Just Nan called Christmas Jingle Mouse. This was stitched on 32ct. Zweigart Ant. Almond Belfast linen.  He measures approx. 2" x 3 1/2".  I wasnt crazy about the dark linen, or the crystal beads, but thats what came in the kit. I think he needs a little more bling which I will add when I do another one. I will probably use 28ct linen on the next one, since this was my first project on 32ct. I can hardly see on 28ct.!  Well, here he is with his bronze tail this year.

Thank you froggie! No plastic surgery for him, lol! Now I am completely blind working on 32 ct.! I may have to go back to 14 ct., lol! Glad you like him and his lack of bling! Thanks for the rate!  Post time 2013-10-20 11:23

I know a place where your teeny little friends can be safe from your granddaughters, dear: my house! Since Im such a generous person, I will make some space for them! LMAO.  Post time 2013-10-20 23:56

Thank you. This is my 1st using 32 ct. and I had to use readers and a magnifier! Ive done one before on 28ct, so I think Ill have to go back to 28ct. Thank you for the rate also!  Post time 2013-10-20 11:28

Lovely mouse.  I like him.

BTW, what is the ct of 14ct, 18ct, 32ct etc?

Comments

Thank you carton! Like medillon said, its how many holes or squares is in 1 inch of fabric. This mouse is less than 2" tall, so it killed my eyes, lol! And, thanks for the rate! You must try one, lol   Post time 2013-10-20 13:03
It is the difference in the size of the squares you have to stitch on... I have never done 32 count is soooooooo tiny. The higher the number the smaller the stitching squares.  Post time 2013-10-20 12:45

He is absolutely adorable!  You did an excellent job although you are crazy for doing it on 32 count.  I could never go that tiny and my eyes are pretty good.  This is why I decided to do my dragon (only cause it is crazy huge 450 x 634) to go with 18 count the pattern called for 25 count but there is just no way I could do it.  You are brave!  My daughter wants one of these little mouseys but I think I got 22 or 24 count to do him on, oh well he will be a little bit bigger than he is supposed to be :)

LOL dont you love they steal your works :) Its nice to know they appreciate what you make :) I got the pattern off here so I think its last years mouse that she wants :)  Post time 2013-10-20 13:34
I actually liked last years mouse better. It was same size except I used 28ct, but it had more detail and looked nicer I think. Granddaughter will get one of these two. Shes already put dibbs on one  Post time 2013-10-20 13:11
Thanks medillon! My 1st 32ct and probably my last, lol! I did my last 1 on 28 ct. & that was hard enough. Ive seen 40ct fabric & I cant imagine working on that! Go on & make you daughter this mouse!   Post time 2013-10-20 13:08

Oooh, its fabulous!  I use magnification glasses anymore to stitch and absolutely love the higher count linens.    Ive done petit point on 40ct gauze when I was younger but have 35ct in my stash for that special something.

I agree with your disappointment with the fabric colour.  I would have gone lighter!

How lovely  Post time 2013-10-20 14:32
Im going to have to get even higher magnifiers if I use this size fabric again. I cant imagine using 40 count. Im more comfortable with 28 ct. or higher, even though I have a lot of 32 ct. now.  Post time 2013-10-20 13:24
Thank you LouAnna! I didnt realize it was that dark until it arrived. Its really darker than the pic shows, but I lightened the pic some. The pattern was so close to last years too, but not as nice!  Post time 2013-10-20 13:22

That is so darn cute!. I love the teeny pointsettas, and the teensey little ears and nose. Wow, such tiny stitches!

I use one of those hands-free magnifiers that hang around my neck, really handy for crocheting with super fine thread and a tiny hook, maybe that would help. I can see to do my crocheting and get along fine without it, but using it just makes every little stitch show so clear and I can almost double my speed because Im not fussing around trying to figure out where the next stitch belongs, makes a big difference!

Thank you & for the rate! I have one of those that hang around your neck with a LED light on it, but it kept moving around, so I put it back in the box! I just need better eyes & a bigger project, lol   Post time 2013-10-20 15:17
