The Victoria Sampler - Candy Cane Cottage

The pattern includes instructions and charts for the cottage and pincushion.  It is part four of the Gingrebread Village Series.  This project is somewhat complicated. Consequently, it is very advisable to read all the instructions contained in the .zip files before starting.
In addition to cross stitches, there are also a few other types of stitches used in this pattern - diagrams for these are included.
Threads and materials: the pattern calls for Gloriana silk, Kreinik Mori, Needlepoint Inc., DMC Perle cotton. However, it is possible to substitute them with less expensive threads of your choice. Other materials include beads and buttons. Some beads (e.g. in the candy cane motifs) can be substituted with red and white cross stitches (satin floss would look nice, for example). Number of thread colors: approx.9. Number of bead colors: 4. Enjoy.
