PB060003 - Copy.JPG

I didnt like the teddy bear at the top so i changed it to a panda and i changed one of the sheep into a zebra, adapted from another Linda Gillum design. Then I had to modify the borders to fit the zebra and changed all the pastel pinks to dark blues - which then meant I had to darken most other colours too, a good thing because I didnt have many pinks in my stash!

Im quite proud of the writing done in cording, but I have erased most of it to protect the new babys privacy. The buttons were added just because I had them and I felt like it.

Oooh, its a fabulous finish!   Excellent choice of colours and you are so brave to change the animals!

Thanks LouAnna. If I had known how difficult it would be to change I never would have attempted it. I think it was a combination of naivety and luck.  Post time 2013-11-23 19:49

LOL I think I have mistakes in every one of mine too but that is what gives them character :)  Post time 2013-11-24 21:28

You did a great job! Im always afraid to change anything. My husband calls my cross stitch "paint-by-number".

I used a pencil and graph paper. Im very low tech. Maybe when I run out of patterns to stitch Ill attempt to make some of my own.  Post time 2013-11-27 07:55
Yes, Ive used pattern maker and pcstitch, but Im just not artistic, I dont have a good imagination to see what it would look like changed.  Post time 2013-11-24 21:41
Have either of you ever played on Pattern Maker.... I have only doodled on it and if I can figure out how to copy and paste on it will be doing more but it makes it easy to make changes :)  Post time 2013-11-24 21:30
I agree. I have no creativity, but Im good at following directions.  Post time 2013-11-23 22:19
haha. Thats hilarious, that is exactly why I like cross stitch so much! It is intricate and detailed but every tiny section is exactly charted out ahead of time.  Post time 2013-11-23 19:51

Girl! That is really smart! Im with you there, its always better to play it safe and you never know. They are going to love it regardless though :)  Post time 2013-11-23 21:05
I hope so. I didnt want to step on any toes, so I put all 3 kids names rather than DOB, weight, etc for the new baby - just in case a relative had already made a birth sampler.  Post time 2013-11-23 19:54
