Here is my version of a preemie beanie hat.
The reason why I have done it as a preemie, is because I want to learn how to make my own beanie hats, but was worried about making something so big and thought that making something so small like these preemie beanie hats, it would help me to learn to make bigger ones.
Since I have stitched this, I thought that I would make more things like this one, in different colours and shades, and see if I can work out a way of setting up a charity enabling me to donate these hats to my local hospital for preamture babies that are being born.
The preemie hat that I crocheted will fit an 18-20 week baby that has been born premature.
I am going to look into finding patterns for babies that are born early, and also for newborns.. After seeing my mum this weekend she told me about my nan, she used to knit baby hats and preemie hats for our local hospital which she started when my brother was born 5 weeks early, she did this for a few years before she was unable to knit due to having cancer, and unfortunately loosing her life :(
Thinking about following in my nans footsteps and doing some good and giving back...
