My mom passed away a few years ago. She and I loved cross stitching and her loss really shook me. When she was alive, she had seen a kit for an angel spinning the globe at Joanne's or something, but she didn't get it at the time. For years after that, she was constantly looking for that pattern or kit, but she could never find it. When she passed, I wanted to find and make it for her, but no matter where I looked, I couldn't find it either.
I found this pattern instead. My dad tells me it isn't the right one (she must have shown it to him at some point), but rather than look for any and every angel with a globe, I found a beautiful one that I loved and that I thought would best be a memory of my mother.
Little did I know when I downloaded it, it was 25 pages long and had dozens of colors. I enlisted the help of my aunt and her sewing circle to get the threads I needed and bought my fabric. It's certainly a complex pattern, but at least it's all cross stitch. I've been working on this pattern off and on for years, and I thought I would share my progress with you guys.
