I hate stitching on evenweave or linen - I hate the counting! :D the fabric is sooo soft, and as I don´t use a hoop it´s not nice to stitch on! But everyone has its favorite fabric, mine is Aida - the only thing I don´t like is dark fabric, can´t see the holes and I don´t want to work with a magnifier. Keep on going and have fun
I only use linen or evenweave ut always use good lighting and a magnifier. I have also had a pair of my prescription glasses coated to make them magnified, I can only use them when I am sewing lol, but a great help.
I went onto Amazon and bought some reading glasses in 4.0 and wish I had even gone a little higher. But Im older and need reading glasses to begin with. I love stitching on linen ;)
The counting doesnt become an issue after a while. I much prefer the look and feel of evenweave or linen to aida, makes such a difference in the final product.
Linen/evenweave is PERFECT for patterns with quarter/3-quarter stitches. I love using it, but now I have cataracts so not so easy. Funny story - my first evenweave kit I didnt understand the difference from Aida so the finished project turned out tiny with a LOT of unused fabric!
