                            Hello !

First of all, please apologize my English as it is not my first language.

I am in love with Mirabilia designs and would like to do "Ashleys Roses".

Unfortunatly, I have some congenital eyes problem and can only do cross stitch on 14 count Aida. I know that mainly Mirabilia patterns are stiched on linen.

Do you think the design will be still look good on 14 count Aida ? I can go to 16 count Aida but not more.

Thank you

I think it would look fabulous on the 18ct.

I think it will be a little bit small for my poor eyes :(  Post time 2015-3-26 15:13

Most Mirabilia patterns can be done in aida. I also can only work with 14 or 16 count aida. This pattern would be about 14 3/8 inches wide by 19 inches tall. Sorry, I only know inches. Happy stitching!

measurments are for 14 count aida. 16 count is used most often with Mirabilia patterns though.  Post time 2015-3-26 06:19

Ive seen some Mirabilia designs done on aida and they look fine - most important thing is that youre comfortable with the fabric youre using - hope you enjoy it

Thank you for your answers !

I am reassured because I was afraid that it makes coarse and the final result was not fine enough, as the cross stitches on 14 count aida are bigger than on linen (well, I think).

Hope you understand my English :loveliness:

As soon as I finish my Millard Duck ... I will start  "Ashleys Roses".

I agree with septembersong61. The most important part of stitching is that you have fun doing it and that you enjoy the end result. If you prefer to use 14 ct aida, then GO FOR IT!

I also love using 14 ct aida. Ill do 16 ct but thats as high as Ill go, and I dont like linen or evenweave. It has to be fun for me or why bother doing it?

The final product will turn out a bit larger but then itll just be easier to see :)

I too prefer 14ct as its easier for my bad eyes to see. yes, whats the point if you dont enjoy it? LOL  Post time 2015-4-10 07:35
