On another thread I was asked to show projects on higher count fabrics. This is Atalie Petit Coeur done on 36ct. The fabric and thread are both from Ninas Threads.
Tomorrow Ill take pics of my 40ct projects.
If you have the opportunity to try higher count fabrics, I really hope youll give them a try. They create such pretty, delicate projects:) My eyesight isnt the greatest but I adjusted quickly. Magnifying glasses can be very helpful, LOL:)
My apologies if its too big, I was hoping to show detail.
Wow..Its fabulous, Ive never think about making something to my stitch, I just frame it. Did you put something inside the fabric(cotton) so it looks like a pincushion or you just stick the fabric to the can?.Did you stitch the background of the flower or its just the color of the fabric? Ive never touch linen in my life, so sorry if too much asking. Youre very creative and the flower looks awesome on linen :loveliness:
Thank you for the nice words, I really appreciate it:loveliness:
I did add some cotton batting but its not enough to use as a pincushion. I just like the "puffy" look:)
I only stitched the roses and little accents. The fabric was hand dyed to an "Ash" color.
I used to frame everything but I got really tired of it...I needed to try new things. Once I got over the fear of ruining my pieces it became fun:)
In the past all I ever used was 14ct aida but I felt I was stuck in a rut. I started on 28ct linen since it equals 14ct aida and fell in love with it. From there I moved on to the higher counts. If youre able to buy some linen I hope youll give it a shot:) Feel free to ask me any questions:)
did you stich 1 over 1 or over 2, the rose look beautiful.. I have a dmc kit that come with linen, 28ct I think, but I was too afraid to stitch it, so afraid that I miss calculated due to my bad eyesight {:3_55:}
but I think maybe its time to try new stuff, I was thinking of starting a HAED design using 25ct. Please Help Me, God {:3_52:}
Thank you:) I did over 2. Once you get going, if you make a mistake it will jump out at you. The "x" will either look too short or too thin... Youll definitely know you did something wrong, LOL:)
My eyesight also gives me trouble. I bought a pair of magnifying glasses at my local craft store. They are the same thing as "readers" youd find in a drugstore. I brought a piece of fabric with me and tried different strengths until I found a pair that made the holes more visible.
Trying new things is so much fun:) I hope you enjoy your HAED, remember its just one stitch at a time:) I was thinking of trying their design "The Toy Box" on 40ct but I have other things I want to get done first.
