It's still beautiful work. Why is linen considered so much better, if I may ask?

thank you About linen: it's just as easy to work with as Aida, but the holes are smaller (so they are not as visible); and you can work in petite on linen; you can lay beads in 3 directions instead  Details Reply Post time 2015-7-6 20:17

thank you to be honest, I like colored fabrics - but not the ones with bold color variations. I've seen, maybe, 1 or 2 works when it's really good, but generally it just draws attention away from t  Details Reply Post time 2015-7-6 20:24

thank you :) About linen: it's just as easy to work with as Aida, but the holes are smaller (so they are not as visible); and you can work in petite on linen; you can lay beads in 3 directions instead of two (only diagonals are easy to make on Aida; on linen you can lay them in any direction); it's easier to make 1/4 and 1/3 stitches on linen; I prefer how the linen feels to the touch. Honestly, I like good Aida, and sometimes (once in a couple of years) I make something with it, but I like linen much more. It even looks more refined :)

thank you :) to be honest, I like colored fabrics - but not the ones with bold color variations. I've seen, maybe, 1 or 2 works when it's really good, but generally it just draws attention away from the design, IMO. E.g., Zweigart Vinage line is OK (colors are natural and subdued), but... pink + violet? Or sea green + dark blue + violet? Ugh.
