Beads 3mm from Aliexpress for cross stitch

I ordered a box of beads 3 mm, white, silver, bronze, antrazit and black. I will use them for some Mirabilia projekt :D. I cant wait to sew them.

They remind of lava after cooling, in the afternoon. Do you use long or short needles with this type of beads?

Do you often use Aliexpress for craft supplies? I mostly use Ebay, because Paypal, but lately Ive been eyeing Aliexpress as well.... so many stores over there seem so much cheaper in bulk than Ebay sellers.
