So I am about to embark on a project of a lifetime, the size of which is 625x792 making it around 1 metre on 1.5. I love the design and am all ready to start it, but my problem is - how do I hold it? I never used frames or hoops, the hoops always seem to me to ruin fabric and/or the design, the frames I simply did not think I need, as they were big, weighty and I like to carry my work with me sometimes.
But I am thinking now how will I manage to hold this one, especially once I get to the middle and have around 50 cm on both sides hanging around, so I am considering of getting a frame. But will there be one which fits such a huge one? Is there a way of keeping just a small area on a frame with the rest of the fabric hanging around somehow? I understand the top and the bottom, that it can be rolled on a frame, but I somehow do not imagine what to do with the sides. Any tips?
I think I will try out the Q-snaps, though I have not bought them yet. It seems, however, really the most reasonable thing and thanks to all who suggested them!

Surely not the only ones available in the embroidery stand. Whose elements cent longer if necessary rolled material , so that it is thus stretchable . It is very convenient because the height is adjustable and igazgatható the needle with both hands and not be maintained throughout the work. I have a picture of this size which are feasible tehár home . I just do not know how I manage to put here . If someone writes gladly send you e- mail address , and you can share in this topic .
I like to use q-snaps. But with a large project it can get heavy to hold, so I sit at a table and rest the top of the frame on the edge to work. Q-snaps can be up to 17 inch but at that length the frame can flex quite a lot when you are trying to get the fabric taught. I like to use either 8 inch or 11 inch or a combination of the two. I always use hoops. Doesnt matter what large is the embriodery and never loose or damage. If you can use something larger, there are estructures to keep it, but i find it very big and annoying.
I think you could try looking at q snaps, (say 11 inch by 11 inch) and a very thick grime guard to hold the excess fabric along with some big wide hair clips. If you did decide to go this way, you could always make your own q snap lap stand out of polypipe, quite cheaply.
For anything other type of frame then it would be a very large scroll frame, but I dont know if they come that big, and youd definitely need a chunky solid stand to hold it with.
