Hello,
   Use makeup blush with a stiff fabric paint brush to work it in the yans, another choice is chalk pastels do the same way. This is great for fabric also.

I use a marker tip but it does not work that well on dark colored yarn. If you have wool yarn, you can try needle felting the blush in, otherwise embroidering it on is a solid option. I love blush cheeks!
