Basically Alipay is where you can buy gold coins (GC) for real money if you want. RMB is for Renminbi meaning the peoples currency, more normally called the Chinese Yuan. Having bought the DMC threads, which also was through Alipay (I think), I can tell you they accept all currencies.

Not having done it, I cant tell you the going rate of GC to the $, but if you are short of GC and unwilling to wait, I would decide how much you are willing to spend to and buy for that amount.
