This a photo of my best friend taken this summer. She is 16 1/2 years old. Tears run down my cheeks as I write this as my girl, Lexie is dying of cancer and now has chronic kidney failure. Ive been on my own for a long, long time and she knows all my secrets, my hopes, my dreams and my failures. Although she is not in pain, every day her health fails a little more. I honestly dont think I can live without her. Losing her is going to kill me. I love her with all my heart!

I dont think I can be strong this time. Ive lost cats before, two were thirteen, but never have I ever been so attached to a cat before as this one. Ive had so many bad times and shes the only one who has loved me unconditionally where my family have turned their backs on me. My brother turned my mom against me in order that he and his wife will get everything when she passes way. My only consolation in life has been Lexie.
Im so sorry! She is beautiful and she looks so warm and huggy.
Losing your fur baby is so hard and painful. They are so special to us and they really only want to please us (When theyre not making us pull our hair out over their antics) so when theyre sick and need us, were right there for them too.
I hope you take comfort in knowing that she is not in pain and that she knows that you love her as much as she loves you.
Try to remember that you have given her so much too and that she will always be with you, even when she crosses the rainbow bridge.

I know there is nothing I, or anyone else can say or do to ease your pain...............,
and I just grasp every day that I have with him and hold on to it as tightly as I can, and for as long as I can..............

thank you for your kind words. every time I read my own post I start bawling. I feel so alone already even though shes still here. I have no family or friends to share this with. Although words help, its not enough to not think of leaving this world myself after her so we can be together. Ive been spending time on here all day giving compliments on peoples work even though my heart isnt into it.

Im so sorry to hear that. What does yours have? And you are right about there being no words of real comfort when a beloved is dying. Im so stressed out. Even financially its been real bad. Shes going through 40 pounds of kitty litter in less than two weeks. My world begins and ends with her. Shes not in pain right now but I am as I watch her go downhill all I think about is preparing myself to with her after shes gone. Im all alone so no people will care. Emotionally Im a total wreck. She now lets me give her kisses on the head which she never would have put up with if she was well.
Youre not alone in your stress and upset over your fur baby.
I think most people who dont have pets are much better at understanding. They get what it means to fur mommies and fur daddies when their beloved pets are ill and or dying.
The financial impact can add to the devastation, especially when you want to do more but cannot or when you can do more but the vet doesnt think it will be best for the fur baby. It is hard to let go.
You can also do a search of Rainbow Bridge or Pet Loss to locate online support forums and local organizations with groups that can really help you cope with what is happening right now. Its tough to deal with this on your own.
Sometimes just being in touch with people who are going through the same things can really be comforting.
