ad bombardment

I love this website, but I am so bombarded with ads and cookies that my computer works at 1/100th of its original speed.  I may have to quit coming here, because  I have to clear my computer each time I visit.

Get Adblock Plus, I haven't seen ads in ages. Lots of ads loading at the same time slow down my browser, so I can't be nice and let them load for the sake of any site I visit.

What is a good ad blocker to use on an iPad?  The one you recommend isn't compatible.

I use Chrome which has in a built in ad blocker.

I've got Chrome too and have just accessed the site through that rather than the usual way, but there are still ads all over the pages, even just above your post.  No sooner do I close them down than another one appears.  It is so annoying and I'm sure it must slow things down.
