I had to properly earn my reward.  Took about half an hour to figure it all out but hopefully people will enjoy it.

Ive downloaded the attachments Killerwhale and can unrar the first set, but I cannot unrar the second group. Did you use a special program to compress the pdfs?

Same thing happens to me!!!!!  I can unrar the first set, but not the second one!   Please help!!!

Ok, went in and removed 4 and 5 and replaced it with 2a and 2b.  I really hope this works instead.  Again, please let me know if there are still complications.

Im so sorry Killerwhale, Ive just added to the confusion because I failed to explain myself properly. I downloaded all the file attachments, they were fine. I unrard all of them, no problem. But now I have 7 compressed files from the first pdf, which are labelled like so:
The_Bad_Faerie_Part_1.zip.001
The_Bad_Faerie_Part_1.zip.002
etc etc
and 2 compressed files from the second pdf (and now six parts from the new uploaded attachments) all labelled the same way.
But I cant figure out how to unzip them to form the pdfs. Ive tired to rename them in various combinations, but whatever I try, I cant get them to unrar. Did you use a different program to create them (like HJ splitter & joiner) or 7Z or something else?
any help would be appreciated.
