I love to have a "friend" keep me company while I stitch. These are some of the needleminders I have made. I especially like the ones that are beads because the hole from the string is perfect for the needle.

thank you. They are fun, and I lose fewer needles now :) Scavenging the Hobby stores for cheap items makes it like a treasure hunt for me  Post time 2016-12-23 03:39

I have one of those octopus charms.  =)  Gonna make something for my husband with it.  Hes into Cthulhu, but a head thing with tentacles is close enough!

I thought a needle minder was a book type deal.  lol  Never saw one.  My mother used a chatelaine.  I use the arm of my chair.  ;P

So are these attached to something, or do you keep each one loose with your stitching stuff?  These are really cute!

The little Japanese girl is a piece of fabric over a button mold. She is very light and I can use the small magnet with her.  Post time 2016-12-23 13:45
They are super easy to make. The hardest part is cutting off the pin part if they are decorative pins. Cute buttons make great ones too  Post time 2016-12-23 13:43
That is really cool! Magnets. I have magnets stuck in my floss boxes already for needles. This is so much cuter!  Post time 2016-12-23 12:56
I am using a minder on my chicken cross stitch. Its actually a bead so the needle sits perfectly in the hole and I dont lose it  Post time 2016-12-23 11:06
The minder doesnt need to be metal. The magnets are so strong that you can use plastic or wooden charms. The larger 1/2 magnet works best. I bought the smaller ones first, but wasnt happy w/ them.  Post time 2016-12-23 11:04
I glue a rare earth magnet (see the silver circles in pic) to the back of the minder, then I use a 2nd magnet on the back of the fabric. It holds the minder tightly and it is what attracts the needle.  Post time 2016-12-23 11:02
