Simple, with elegant lines, and designed to make the most of a single skein of luxury yarn, this shawl can be worn in many ways. The long thin asymmetric shape is like a falling leaf twisting in the wind, so is named for Wash’s famous line from Serenity.
Knitted flat in garter stitch from the bottom up to make an asymmetric triangle with eyelets and picots along all three sides, the shawl is blocked lightly to make the picots stand out, but not enough to lose the skooshiness of pure cashmere garter stitch luxury. The integral slit means that the long end of the shawl can be threaded through to avoid use of bulky knots or heavy pins, and maintain a long and elegant line whilst staying in place. The slit is edged by a few rows knitted in the round, and can be omitted if desired.
