This shawl was inspired by the one that Claire Randall wears in the Outlander TV serie. The original shawl was made in three colors. I chose to do mine with only two. This shawl isn’t an exact replica, but inspired by, Or rather my “take” on it.
I named this pattern “When In Scotland,” as a play on the phrase “When in Rome…” Claire has time-traveled to a different time. When stuck in Scotland in the early 1740’s, you dress and act like the locals, as much as possible.
This shawl is easily customize-able. You can use as many colors as you wish. Stripe it, solid color, rainbow, whatever. You can also make the shawl larger by continuing the increases on every right side row. If you choose to make the shawl larger, you will need more yarn.
