What Language is the Patterns written in

Hello
    Can some one tell how to know for sure what language a pattern is written in. Sometimes I will see English or Russian with the title but when none is listed how do you know ?
I wish the Russians would teach us some of there  techniques  in the crochet world they have some outstanding patterns.  Is there a way to translate patterns from russian to english ? Thank you for your help

Some of the Russian patterns have crochet line patterns, which sometimes yo can figure out if you know what the symbols mean, I have seen these on Japanese crochet patterns to sometimes.

I agree with you that the Russian patterns are beautiful and it would be nice to have them in English

More English patterns would be greatly appreciated. Or at least more translated ones. The foreign ones are always so much more beautiful.
