This is a beautiful, lightweight option for a mermaid blanket. They work up relatively quickly, due to the lacy stitch. The pattern is worked so the back is open, and it should cocoon around the legs.

If you are using the Caron Cakes, you will need the following number of cakes per size:
Toddler: 2
Child: 3
Adult: 4
