The short-rows and sharp turns result in piercing, tessellated bolts of lightning.
This pattern is very easily adaptable.  Feel free to experiment with the number of markers or the weight of yarn.  This pattern, as written, produces a rhombus, but any parallelogram can be created with differing numbers of repeats.
