This easy-to-make & wear, all-season sweater combines all things I admire - stripes, colorwork, and almost seamless construction. Knitted in the round, it requires almost no finishing. The body and sleeves are worked bottom-up, and later join in the round yoke. The back neck is shaped by short rows; I don’t explain short row technique in the instructions assuming you know how to do it.
You will need:
- long circular needles 2.5 and 3mm, shorter circular 2.5 mm needles for the sleeves, stitch markers, tapestry needle;
- fingering weight yarn for 30(32-34, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52): 1200(1600, 1900, 2300, 2600, 2900, 3200) yards, of which approximately 3/7 - white, 2/7 – medium blue, 1/7 – dark blue, and 1/7 light blue.
finished bust measurements:
30.7 (33.3, 37, 41.6, 44.8, 48.6, 52.5) inches.
Recommended gauge: ~25 sts. by 30 r. in 4’’.
This is a scoop neck; the yoke isn’t as tall as you would expect in a crew neck!
It should also make a pretty summer top if made with some cotton yarn and short sleeves!
