Unalakleet is a stranded shawl worked seamlessly from the top-down. For this shawl, the strandedstitches are worked back and forth (flat, using stranded knitting and stranded purling), and intarsia twists are used to connect the colorwork to the seed stitch edging along each side of the shawl. To facilitate the stranded purling, the purl side rows mirror the colorwork on the knit side. Finally, the transition from the colorwork body to the seed stitch bottom edging creates a slight ruffle for added interest.
