Red Envelope (question)

Can someone please explain the red envelopes to me.

I understand it posts on your personal page and visitors can open the gift, so I purchased & put 100 coin in and set it to 20coin chunks. So does that mean 5 people will be able to get the gift, or can one person take the lot? Im hoping the latter!  Also will I get notification of who claimed a gift or do people usually write their thanks on your wall?
