I cant open these files. The folders show as empty when I download them. Help!

I did too, when I tried to use the usual Winrar.  In fact, a LOT of downloads are being problematical lately. But I used 7ZIP to extract the files, and it works perfectly!!! Try it out on any download Winrar cant open or gives you and error message--I bet it will work!
