Tax increase???

When did the tax increase go from 10% to 30%? Thats a huge jump. Example charge 50 coins for pattern you would get 45 of those coins. Now you will only receive 35. This is going to make everyone start charging more coins and members will no doubt get frustated.

Really, a little communication from the site to the members wouldnt go amiss.

Even for the repaints, where the site already takes 199 gold coins for the download they take 30% off of the members price. Dont know what happens if you set your price at 1 gold coin (to keep track of your downloaded repaints as there arent many members who rate when they download).

And for spacecadet2015: all prices went up once to 50 gold coins (greedy, I agree ;) ) with a site-update and couldnt be corrected afterwards, but now you can set your prices low again, its only the old items which have a high price.

But I really would like a litte bit more information now and then from the site to us.

I addressed this in another thread.  I contacted the owner/admin "here is the response I received Transaction tax: 10%->30%".  Apparently the owner changes things as he/she wishes without notification (hey, its their site so I guess they can do whatever they want for whatever reason).  I think this may be why people are now charging 100 GC for things they upload and frankly, Ill be doing the same as people seem quite willing to pay that price.  I personally always thought it was being GREEDY but if its an uploader is losing an additional 20% I can understand it.  At least the owner reinstated the hourly tasks portion of the website.  There for awhile it was almost IMPOSSIBLE to level up by commenting on posts.

They do exactly what they like on this site, never tell anyone anything, hardly ever reply to queries etc.  While I agree its their site and they can do what they like, its the members that make the site what it is. If no one uploaded anything the site would be pointless so I think they should give the members a bit more respect than they do!

They perhaps should consider to at least increase the hourly task reward to more than just 5 coins. Even if a person would make all the 24 task in a day, it would barely help buy many patterns at all, considering that there is the pricey 30 coins for download costs.

With this tax increase (which is a lot and implemented arbitrarily, to be honest) its necessary to bring balance by giving the users a way to earn coins with more generously-rewarded tasks. Or reduce the download costs a bit, please.

If it goes on as it is now, perhaps people will look elsewhere and the site will fade. Not sure I want this as I love this place.

Just wanted to add my opinion with no intention to hurt anyones feelings or disrespect the powerful admins.
Please, if you are reading this, do something to better this home, not bring it to ruin.

The increase in cost doesnt seem to phase people (i.e., 100 GC to download ONE pattern plus an additional 30 GC for the download itself).  I agree - it takes forever to build up coins.  I as on the site for about 2 years before I actually started downloading anything so I had built up GCs.  The "standard" response has been - "Its not real money so whats the big deal?"  Well, as you mentioned getting GC can be a bit difficult.  I dont think anyone is leaving the site as the "other" site is not nearly as friendly although they do notify the members of changes whereas this one doesnt seem to think it matters.  I dont profess to understand the reasoning and well probably never know why but its their site and they can run it however they see fit.  Yes, the members make the site but as many times as Ive mentioned how GREEDY I think it is to charge 100 GC for a SINGLE PATTERN plus the 30 GC to download people are still "buying" en mass".  Nothing will change unless people stop doing that and apparently they are not about to stop.  Go with the flow I guess, if you cant lick em, join em holds true here.

I pick and choose what I download. No sense in getting whatever pretty pattern if Im not quite ready to make it. I havent caved for any 100 coin pattern yet. If you dont download them, they wont get anything!

I agree with you, I would rather have more downloads at a lesser cost but the site owner is alienating uploaders increasing the tax by 30%.  Why would you want to upload as usual and get less than what you previously got for the same amount of work??  Yes, it does take work to upload items and I think people are entitled to receive GCs for their efforts.  At first I thought it was truly just greed that increased the cost until I realized the site was not only charging 30 GC for the download but "taxing" the uploader at 30% i.e., if you charged 100 GC under the old system you received 90 GC when someone downloaded it, now you only receive 70 GCs when someone downloads it but you didnt do any less work to upload it just getting paid less.  Go with the flow...
