This was inspired by a similar finish on a Russian blog, not my original idea. The russian blog described a pocket type finish using the tree shape.
The tree shape is achieved by using applique techniques. Then I used blanket stitch to join front and back, the backing is brown felt cut to shape.
Design is worked on Belfast linen with gold flecks using suggested threads.
