always circulars - dpns scare me, i've never been able to get them to do what i need them to do

I prefer circular for everything except small diameter knitting (like making individual fingers on a glove). DPNs are fiddly and are more dangerous to have laying around.

I prefer circular needles over straight needles, which includes double points. If you’re going to knit a hat, just grab a second circular split the hat in half and keep knitting to the end. It eliminates the need of double pointed needles. You could also do magic loop and do the whole head that way then you won’t need a second circular or again, no double pointed needles.

circular. and the chiaogoo small sets with the 2" and 3" needles for small items!
