The pattern calls for fingering or DK weight yarn on 2 mm needles. However this hexagon can be made in any weight yarn using the suggested needle for the yarn.

This hexagon can be made and used to make scarves, shawls, blankets, etc. The size of the hexagon will obviosly depend on the yarn weight used and corresponding needles. It has a lot of wrap and turn stitches (also called short rows), and slip stitches. I would suggest it is for experienced knitters, but well worth the effort.
