Sewing Room Must Haves

Hello all,

How are we today? I am finally in the position where I am having my sewing room built on the coming week-end .It is going to be such a nice change from the caravan that I have been sewing out of the past 6 years!

So, since I am starting new, what are your sewing room must haves? Not machinary or anything like that, but furniture and finishings that help make your sewing life easier? The builder (my cousin) has asked if I would like desks or anything built in to it and since its all come about so quickly I am a touch unprepared! We did speak about building a room for me 5 or so years ago and nothing came of it. I contacted my cousin a couple of weeks ago asking for some advice on how we could DIY a room for me, and all of a sudden he is coming up and building me one :D

My room will be 5x2.5m. Originally it was to be 5x3 but the panels made it less difficult to go down in size a little.

Ohh congratulations!! Well, a big table and shelves is all you can need at first, you can arrange all you things around those and then see how or what more you need , considering your preferences or needs depending your hobby. :)

I do have a cutting table, but pretty much everything else is built in to the caravan so I havent put thought into actual furniture until now LOL. My cutting table is not very big, it is approx 75cm square where I would ideally like to have at least a metre square sized cutting table. What sized cutting table would you recommend? I have never really been in a position to think too much into this, I was always just grateful for what I did have and didnt worry about what I didnt, or needing more or anything along those lines :)

It is exciting and a bit overwhelming too ;)
