Ive found that I can use Firefox with Pindiy, if I disable https only for this site.  The sites security certificate is invalid, therefore you cant access the site securely.  Most browsers want to access a site securely, so that anything exchanged with the site, and the browser is encrypted.

There is a firefox/Chrome add on called https everywhere which tries to use https on all sites.  I dont have it, but from what I understand, you can turn it off for specific sites.  For those of you who do have it installed, you can apparently disable the rule affecting Pindiy in your own copy of HTTPS Everywhere by clicking on the HTTPS Everywhere toolbar button and unchecking the rule for Pindiy.

If you dont have https everywhere and are having problems with the site in Firefox, try the following steps and see if it helps:
Typing in the site address with https:// before www.pindiy.com and try to access securely.
If that does not work try typing in the site address with http:// before  www.pindiy.com and try to access unsecured.
If that just redirects you to the  https:// address, then you need to try to turn security off for the site.
With the https:// address in the address bar, and whatever errors show up, you should see the lowercase letter "i" with a circle around it. Click on that and you will see a box pop up with www.pindiy.com and the words "connection is not secure" probably in red.  There should be a greater than symbol ">" beside this. Click on the ">" symbol.
Another box should show up.  This box should have the words "Disable protection for now" displayed in a box.  Click on the "Disable protection" words.
At this point the website should then refresh (it may take a bit of time) and everything should display as normal, including pictures.

I had to do this in Firefox and Waterjet browsers to display the website properly.  For Waterfox I had to do this for every page, but for Firefox I didnt (Im using Firefox now). Most browsers will have something similar to disable https security.  The only risk to this is that if someone wants to capture information going back and forth between you and the website they can, so there is a risk involved in doing this.  Use at your own discretion.

The Pindiy.com tech support team needs to fix the security certificate before we can securely access the site again using https standard internet security protocols.

Hope this helps those that are having issues accessing the site.

I did eventually use chrome clean up and reinstalled chrome but it has made the other sites I use behave slightly differently. If anyone does re-install make sure you know all your present settings.  Post time 2018-3-27 07:50

If you are using Firefox, there is one other thing that you can try that I know of if you still cant get your browser to use http: instead of https:, and that is to clear your site preferences.  This may affect how some sites work but it will clear the memory of how you accessed pindiy in the past.  Just make sure you dont clear any other history, just your site preferences.

Once you do the following, made sure you type in the Pindiy web site (without spaces) as http: forwardslash forwardslash www. pindiy. com.  Dont use any shortcut or link that you have set up because its probably set up with https and not http.  If you happen to type https by accident, you will have to clear your site preferences again, since firefox will remember what you used last.  You need to clear this memory, so you can enter the site with plain http.

To do this in Firefox, make sure that all tabs for PinDiy are closed.  Once closed, you can then click on the three bars on the right hand side of the address bar, and then click on options.  The options menu should now open up in a new tab.  On the left hand side, click on the word privacy.  Your privacy setting will be displayed.  Under history, look for the words You may want to clear your recent history or something similar (depending on your version of firefox).  Click on that link, and a popup will show with a bunch of check boxes.  Clear (uncheck) ALL the check boxes.  In the drop down list for time range, choose everything. Again, make sure all the boxes are unchecked.  Now, check the box beside site preferences.  Make sure that the only box that has a checkmark is site preferences.  You can now click on clear now.

This will clear any preferences you have set up for websites, but should now allow you to access pindiy with http instead of https.

This pretty much exhausts my knowledge of getting firefox to access the pindiy websites without issues.  Chrome will probably have a similar option to clear site preferences as well.  You shouldnt have to re-install your browser to get this site to work.

Hope this last bit of knowledge will help those still having issues.

P.S. I cant post links, so you will have to read between the characters as it were.
