You might need to level up a couple of levels to download the pattern.  I usually put it into my favorites to download later.
You can find your favorites under my center on the upper right corner when you do decide to collect the pattern.

Carebear1 could you post a link to the pattern that you cannot download? It seems to me that you should be able to download it at level 2, which you are at. It may be that the uploader has set a read permission higher than is allowed (which would be higher than 90 [=level 2], if I remember correctly).
