I think the key point i hows healthy you want it to be? when you make your family snacks, you get to control the amount of sugar, salt and fat and all the nasty bits that a manufacturer might add just to make it taste better. DIY allows you to reduce and use all the good stuff (that manufacturers wont use cos it increases costs) but it wouldnt be an issue for households. I used to make banana oat cookies for myself during exams. no flour, no sugar, just banana and oats. werent really good, but i didnt feel like i was eating more empty carbs that i ought to. and it was mainly high in fibre |
