Not every hour for the 50 coins, its every day (24 hours) you get the 50 coins.

Do your allowed tasks every hour (under "My Center" in top right corner) and post comments in the forums, and pretty soon your DIY level will go up and you should be able to get the pattern you want.

You must do something to earn the coins.
Dont think you get it for free, I know, if you see all the pattern here, you will have them.
Much better first to earn the coins, a lot of tips to find in free talk and gives a better feeling.
Sounds hard, but that is the beginning, crying doesnt help. :)

Im in the same situation. Its driving me crazy!

I spent a few hours replying and posting to reach lvl 1 (100+ posts). To reach lvl 2 Ill need to post 1000 more times. 99.9% of posts are useless filler used to gain coin. Doesnt make for a very rewarding exchange unfortunately. :(
