[resources] Turning old t shirts into a rug!

I had a bunch of old white cotton t shirts I was going to throw away, but I decided to turn them into yarn, and knit a rug! First, I used black dye to turn them grey (I meant them to be black but I guess I didn't use enough dye). Then I cut them up with a rotary cutter in a spiral to have one continuous string. Then I connected them and wound them into yarn. It's a very long hard process, and this is a picture of my progress so far. Not very pretty, but it will be very useful and really washable!

Very clever idea :loveliness: a lot of work but it sounds like it will be well worth it, and fun to try something new!

Very clever!  Any advice on stitch to use for a nice, thick, flat rug with such yarn?

I’ve seen this done before through crochet, not knitting. Interesting!
