I saw an image of some Lykke needles that didn’t look like the wood (driftwood) ones but were black and looked metallic. Has anyone seen these or know anything about them as I found them quite attractive. There was no info on what they were called, etc.
Thanks!

According to their website at lykkecrafts(dot)com, they have a set called umber that has some black needles. It looks like more of a darker wood that sometimes looks black.
I have not seen black Lykke needles, only knitters pride Karbonz (that I would like to try). Heres the info on Karbonz. They are made in a variety of sizes and types (e.g., circular, interchangeable, etc.): "These Karbonz 8" Double Pointed Needles from Knitters Pride are revolutionary! Made from lightweight carbon fiber, their high tensile strength and smooth, nickel plated brass tips means they are ideal for all types of yarn and any knitting project on 4 or 5 needles. "
This is their statement on their website: "Made of strong birch wood, the LYKKE Driftwood needles are very smooth and light." They obviously dye the wood for the finish. Wooden needles tend to grab the yarn. This is not always the best choice for all yarns. However, the same goes for metal needles, they tend to slip. So it depends on what your choice is for knitting. I prefer the metal myself.
Yes! They were black metal and right when the company came out with them. We were going to place an order for them but Our rep told us they were pulled as some of the finish chipped off some of the needles. While just a minute few were given out to the yarn reps, all the rest were pulled and they have no plans to remake and sell.
