May I ask, when I look in the pattern sections, say crochet patterns I see they are all together in different languages, is there a quicker way to - search for English/Polish/Spanish only patterns? Also, is there a way to see recently added patterns? (such as a drop down box). Sorry if this has been asked before I tried to look but couldnt see anything. Thankyou.
I dont use the search that often, but it does help if you know what you are looking for to narrow it down by author or type.
Once you do your search at the top right there should be two words, Quick or Advanced.
Try an advanced search to narrow down either by author or post date or time, it gives you a drop down list for areas of the forum you wish to search etc.
I think funshine, thats not possible, if they could change it, the mods would do it. In the last time we have a lot of new members in other languages, maybe they will do it later, what your question is. :)
Totally agree! I was looking for a knitting pattern for an 8 year old, I did the search knitting/child/pullover etc and gave up. Being down with a serious bout of flu I was not in the mood to search manually through 688 pages of patterns.
The only solution I could come up with is if @admin ask for 20 (or more) volunteers to help sort out patterns into
1. Lanuage
2. Category (ie: Baby/Child/Adult/Household/Hats-Beanies/Scarves-Wraps etc
If each person was given a number of pages to do and perhaps a category to concentrate on, I think as a community we can get the patterns/magazines/books in some sort of order very quickly.
for new patterns i go to -my center- (top right) then i choose treads and then new treads. the latest patterns are there. when i want a certain pattern, i will use the search (top left)
you can narrow down results.. you go to the pattern section (i crochet, so thats where im "at home"). By default, you will be shown the latest uploads, you can change this by tapping/clicking on "all" and then Patterns. This will open a dropdown where you can select the categorie you are looking for. As uploaders have to label their patterns, you should be able to narrow down what you are looking for.
