Does anyone know of a good site with clear instructions for lacing needlework. I usually get my bigger pieces laced by the framer but I would like to practice on some ornaments I have completed.

When someone visits this page from a link you share, you will be rewarded

I am not sure what you mean. But I think this is what you are asking about, to lace the back of the stitched piece. There is a good tutorial explaining how to do this on a blog called Plays With Needles with lots of photos. We can not put direct links on the forum, so replace (DOT) with a .

You can also go to YouTube and type in "lacing needlework" in the search to see some video how to do it.

There is at least one EXCELLENT tutorial on this site.  Have to look in my notes to find it.  But try searching for finishing tutorials here.  The person posted it as "works" rather than resources, if I remember correctly.

No matter how many tutorials I watch and how many times Ive been shown and attempted it, Ive never had one turn out great. Now i cheat and use masking tape and stick it to the back of the backing board. It turns out fantastic and looks just as good, as long as no-one opens the frame, then my secret is safe.
